Pump Failure

If you have a pump on your septic tank, these can sometimes fail slowly or stop working completely. Pump failure will cause your tank to fill up at an increasing rate, in turn causing a sewage backup or overflow into your yard and waterways. Some signs of pump failure are, a red indicator light is on, the pump is beeping or your pump is showing no indication of working at all.

Important! These symptoms can be health hazards — the water that is pooling or backing up into your house is wastewater and needs to be dealt with as soon as possible.
